Why We’re Asking for Your Help
Dear Friends,
We are Melonie Jackson and Alex Saunders. In March of 2025 we founded Hugs For Harry to be a safe haven for seniors, cruelty survivors, and shelter dogs on the edge of euthanasia. Every wagging tail you’ve seen, every adoption success story, every healing journey—it has all been possible because we had a roof over our heads and the support of the community.
The Need
With your help, we can and will always help dogs in need - especially those that shelters and rescues regularly turn away from.

These are just some of our costs. We rely completely on donations from the community. Every dollar goes directly toward keeping our dogs safe and keeping our sanctuary open:

$11,000/mth – Sanctuary staffing to monitor, feed and care for the rescue dogs / 7 days a week

Adoption Fees
Adoption fees are non-refundable once you have taken home your dog.
Adoption fees goes towards vaccinations, heartworm testing, spay/neutering, micro-chipping, and medical care if needed. Fees help with kenneling, food, collars, leashes, sometimes even toys, and possibly the use of a dog trainer to help with behavior problems.
These fees all go towards helping the dogs. We are an all-volunteer organization.
Your new dog will come to you altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. Now all you need to do is get ready to meet your new best friend and give them the love and kindness and love they deserve.
Rescues, & Re-Homing Campaign
Senior dogs, those with special needs, and at-risk pups often face their toughest challenges alone.
Your kindness fuels Hugs for Harry's dedicated work, providing the specialized care and unwavering support these vulnerable souls need to heal, hope, and find loving homes.
Critical Veterinary Emergencies & Rehab Campaign
